Rep. Graves Votes to Hold North Korea Accountable

Washington, Apr 3 -

Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) issued the following statement after the House approved the North Korea State Sponsor of Terrorism Designation Act (H.R. 479) and a resolution condemning North Korea’s development of intercontinental ballistic missiles (H.Res. 92):

“Simply put, North Korea cannot have weapons capable of striking the United States. The nation is run by a dangerous, delusional dictator, who supports terror activities around the world, including cyberattacks on our nation and our allies. This legislation clearly shows the House’s bipartisan commitment to holding North Korea accountable and ensuring it never becomes a direct threat to the homeland.”

H.R. 479 requires the Secretary of State to determine whether North Korea is state sponsor of terrorism.

H.Res. 92 condemns North Korea’s development of ballistic missiles, approves of the deployment of additional defenses in South Korea and urges China to end sanctions against South Korea for bolstering its defenses.
