Rep. Tom Graves Holds Town Hall Meeting

Georgia's 9th District Representative, Republican Tom Graves, got a lot of praise from an afternoon crowd of white, mostly senior citizens for his NO vote against raising the debt ceiling.

"I was very outspoken against a deal, against a compromise because I feel compromises are what got us into this mess in the first place," Rep. Graves said. "You can not compromise your way out of it."

During a one-hour meeting at Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School Rep. Graves said his number-one focus in Congress now is creating jobs and "getting government out of the way" of people he calls "job creators." Rep Graves also said he is against raising any taxes as a way of helping mend the country's deteriorating financial situation.
