Rep. Tom Graves Receives Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence

Washington, October 6, 2016 - The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) announced this week that Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) is a recipient of the NAM Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence for the 114th Congress. NAM gives the award at the end of each Congress to legislators who have earned a 70 percent or higher rating on key manufacturing votes.

“Manufacturers in Georgia and throughout the United States are leading an innovation revolution, creating jobs, making more products and making them better than ever before,” said NAM Senior Vice President of Policy and Government Relations Aric Newhouse. “However, manufacturers are often disproportionately and adversely impacted by decisions made by policy and lawmakers. The NAM is proud to stand with lawmakers like Rep. Graves who understand what is at stake and seek to implement policies that will energize the manufacturing economy.”

“Manufacturing is an important part of our economy in Northwest Georgia,” said Rep. Graves. “I’m proud to receive this award, and I will continue supporting polices that enable manufacturers to grow and create good-paying jobs in our communities.”

Manufacturing employs more than 12 million people nationwide and contributes $2.17 trillion annually to the U.S. economy. It also accounts for more than three-quarters of all private-sector research and development in the country.

The National Association of Manufacturers is largest manufacturing association in the United States. It represents manufacturers of all sizes and industries in all 50 states.
