Rep. Tom Graves Applauds Senate Agreement on Financial Regulatory Relief Package

Washington, November 14, 2017 - Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14), chairman of the House Appropriations Financial Services Subcommittee, issued the following statement after Senate Banking Committee Chairman Mike Crapo (R-ID) announced a bipartisan agreement to reform the nation’s financial regulatory framework:

“I’m pleased to see the Senate making real progress on a financial regulatory reform package, which includes proposals that will help spur economic growth and private-sector job creation. I share their goals of protecting consumer access to credit and modifying regulations for banks and credit unions to better reflect their business models. That’s why I included similar provisions in my Financial Services Appropriations bill, which passed the House in September.

“While the Senate framework isn’t as robust as the financial reforms included in my bill, it’s a good starting point. I look forward to working with the Senate to build on our common ground and, ultimately, move these important reforms across the finish line.”
