Rep. Tom Graves Praises Passage of Pro-Life Bill, Recognizes March for Life

Washington, January 19, 2018 - Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) today released the following video after voting in favor of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (H.R. 4712), passage of which coincides with the 45th annual March for Life – the world’s largest pro-life event.

H.R. 4712 requires healthcare practitioners to provide life-saving medical care to babies born alive after an attempted abortion, just as they would do for other babies born at the same age of development. The bill passed the House by a vote of 241 to 183.

Below is the video transcript.

Hi, I’m Congressman Tom Graves.

Today, thousands of people from Georgia and all across the nation are here in Washington, D.C. to participate in the 45th annual March for Life, the world’s largest pro-life event.

I’m grateful for everyone’s participation today and all those who value life.

It’s a cause that’s close to my heart and those in our community.

This mission to protect innocent life – born and unborn – has remained at the core of my public service. It’s why I fight to advance the cause of life in Congress.

In fact, just this week, I voted for the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, important legislation to protect babies who survive an attempted abortion.

My vote for this legislation – and every pro-life bill – is a vote to protect innocent lives, and the conscience of millions of people around the country who, like me, believe every baby has the right to life.

I stand with those who choose to be a voice for the voiceless.

After all, love saves lives.
