Graves: “The American people and our President deserve better.”

Washington, January 15, 2020 -

Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) today released the following statement after voting “no” on H.Res.798, a resolution appointing and authorizing managers for the impeachment trial of Donald John Trump, President of the United States. This resolution marks the last U.S. House of Representatives vote in the impeachment process. Passage of the resolution officially sends the two articles of impeachment, which were passed by the House in December, to the U.S. Senate. The Senate is expected to begin an impeachment trial in the coming weeks.

“This partisan process has only sown further division throughout Congress and our country. The American people and our President deserve better. It’s time to put these partisan exercises aside, stop trying to overturn the will of the American people, and get back to work.”
