Rep. Tom Graves: Islamic State is Committing Genocide

Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) today issued the following statement after he voted for and the House passed H.Con.Res. 75, bipartisan legislation expressing the sense of Congress that the Islamic State has committed war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide:

“The Islamic State is committing genocide against Christians, Yezidis and other groups in Iraq and Syria. The United States must recognize, through an official judgement, the reality of the horrific tragedy taking place so we can be honest about what’s necessary to destroy the Islamic State and end their reign of terror. I urge the administration to quit living in denial and join the House in making this determination.”
