Rep. Tom Graves Receives Award for Conservative Excellence
Washington, Nov 27 -
Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) was presented with the American Conservative Union (ACU) Award for Conservative Excellence by ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp on November 1, 2017. Rep. Graves received the award based on his score as part of ACU’s Annual Rating of Congress. The award is given only to those members of the House and Senate who scored 80 percent or above on a wide variety of issues, which are areas of concern for grassroots conservatives and were voted on during the second session of the 114th Congress. ACU, the nation’s oldest grassroots conservative organization, has annually graded members of Congress since 1971 based on their votes on issues important to conservatives. “America rests on a foundation of conservative values: hard work, self-determination, perseverance and strong faith,” said Rep. Graves. “Limited government nourishes and spreads these values by protecting individual freedom and personal liberty. That’s why I fight every day in Congress to limit government and expand freedom – the qualities that make America the greatest nation on earth.”
“Rep. Tom Graves’ Lifetime ACUF rating of 92% reflects a voting record that makes him a reliable defender of the conservative values ACU, and his fellow Georgians, share,” said ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp. “His efforts to revitalize the job market, grow our economy, strengthen our borders, and stand up for religious liberties reminds us that sovereignty resides among citizens and is not bestowed by government.”
