Washington, July 13, 2016 - Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) issued the following statement today after the Senate confirmed Dr. Carla D. Hayden as Librarian of Congress:

“I congratulate Dr. Hayden on her confirmation as the 14^th Librarian of Congress. She has the right background and experience to build on Dr. Billington’s work and ensure the Library is equipped for the 21^st Century. Dr. Hayden is also breaking ground as the first woman and first African-American to hold the job. I look forward to working with her in my role as chairman of the Legislative Branch Subcommittee on Appropriations.”
