Rep. Tom Graves to Serve as Republican Leader of Appropriations Subcommittee for Financial Services

WASHINGTON, January 15, 2019 - The House Appropriations Committee today announced that Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) will serve as Republican Leader of the Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee for the 116th Congress. The influential subcommittee writes the annual bill funding the Department of the Treasury, the Judiciary, the Executive Office of the President and more than 20 Independent Agencies, such as the Federal Communications Commission, Internal Revenue Service and Securities and Exchange Commission. Rep. Graves served as chairman of the subcommittee during the 115th Congress.

“Congratulations to each of the Appropriations Committee’s Republican Leaders. As Republican Leader of the Financial Services Subcommittee, I look forward to continuing to work with the Trump administration to slash harmful regulations, streamline outdated agency processes, and free families and businesses to achieve their dreams,” said Rep. Graves. “Additionally, with the national debt nearing $22 trillion, we simply must put our fiscal house in order. That’s why I will continue searching for and proposing revolutionary ways to save taxpayer dollars. Our kids and grandkids are depending on us.”

“Tom’s vision and innovative thinking are invaluable assets to both the Financial Services Subcommittee and the Appropriations Committee as a whole,” said Granger. “I am looking forward to working with Tom as we seek to ensure the priorities of the American people are reflected in the work of this Committee.”
